There is a growing need to be able to illustrate to students, community leaders and consumers exactly what we mean when we talk about home modifications.  PresentEaseŽ has been developed to give you examples of adaptations that can be done for older people and/or people with disabilities to make their living environments easier and safer places in which to live.

The rationale for the environmental suggestions that are included in LifeaseŽ software has been compiled through several years of exploration, analysis and application in many situations.  During these years, slides of senior housing, assisted living, long term care facilities, homes, and other environments have been taken.  LifeaseŽ has converted these slides into a PowerPoint CD-ROM for instructional purposes.  They can also be downloaded and edited.

LifeaseŽ has organized these examples to provide educators with a database of examples to use in classroom lectures and/or community presentations.

The illustrations have been grouped into four categories:

• Age-related Sensory Change

• Age-related Physical Change

• Cognitive issues

• Universal Design
